Experience Kanarra Creek

Experience Kanarra Creek Through Our Student’s Eyes

Kanarra creek is an invitation to witness the wonders of creation.

Carved into the red rock of the desert mesa, one cannot help but intuit they stand in the narrow aisle of a vast house of worship.

Beneath your feet run the baptismal waters of the creek itself, above your head for tens of feet is the twisting walls of the canyon, carved into creamy undulations and myriad pockets, dips, nooks, and crannies.

All around you are parishioners of every shape and size.

Humans from all over flock to hear the water’s gospel, and trees hand out green pamphlets that tickle as you walk past the crowds of shade trees.

If can approach with an open heart and open mind it’s not just a short day hike, it’s an experience.

Graduating- Students Advancement Ceremony

We had an amazing certificate and advancement ceremony for five graduating students.

Amber, Dylan, Dallin, Eric and Lee all have moved on to great things!

We are so proud of their progress, work and successes.

Each have created a successful path forward and are rocking it!

We will miss them and hope they will come back to visit often.

We never know when a student starts where they will land; finding themselves and working through roadblocks leads often to new paths and possibilities.

We have tried to ensure that each student finds their landing place as a destination school more than a transition school.

Congrats to our students and supporters who have all worked so hard!

Tour by WIndham

Western Sky Warbird Museum Tour By TFL Student Windham

rsz_3p1060141_3

Windham was able to show the students around and help give the tour of the

Western Sky Warbird Museum…

We were able to go visit the museum where Windham volunteers.

They had a lot of older planes and some of us got to sit in one.

A lot of the pilots had come with their own fighter jets to the show. —Amber, TFL student

Committee

New Student Committee Up and Running

We now have a student committee.

Different people are in charge of different parts of the program.

There are committees for:

  • Activities
  • Exercise
  • Food/ cleaning
  • Media
  • Assistant techie coach

I am the chair of the council, so I run the weekly meetings and make sure things run smoothly.

Each committee has a mentor who oversees it but it is the job of the students to make sure things get done. —Eric, TFL student

Brittani

Welcome Our New Mentor Brittani Sprunt!

TFL would like to welcome Brittani to our TFL family.

Brittani is a new mentor and we are excited to get to know her better.

She is from South Jordan, Utah and graduated from the best high school ever. (I may be a little biased since that is where I graduated as well!)

Brittani enjoys dancing, cooking and horseback riding.

Her dream vacation would be to cruise the Caribbean.

If she could pick one super power it would be superhuman strength and speed.

Brittani was introduced to her husband by a mutual friend and they have been married for a year and a half.

She and her husband moved down to St. George in August to attend Dixie State University where Brittani is studying Radiology with an emphasis in sonography.  —Kristin, TFL Program Director
